Obey signs for Cheshunt

POPULAR Ware goalkeeper Obey Murefu has signed for Ryman League Division One North neighbours Cheshunt in search of regular first team football.

The 35-year-old Zimbabwean international goalkeeper proved a massive hit with Ware supporters last season after arriving at the club in the summer of 2010.

He collected the Manager's Player and Supporters' Player of the Season awards at the end of last term.

In recent weeks, Murefu has struggled with ever-increasing work commitments which have sometimes made it difficult for him to play midweek games.

With Rhys Madden currently commanding the gloves at Ware, Murefu has opted to sign for Cheshunt in a bid to find regular and convenient football.

The club would like to thank Obey for his services to Ware over the course of the last season and a quarter.
