Tilbury 0 Ware 2
16 April 2011
RYAN Wade took his tally to six goals in five games as Ware picked up another three points in their end-of-season burst.
Wade struck twice within a five-minute second half period to give the visitors their second consecutive victory and restore a feeling of confidence among Tony Faulkner’s young squad.
Faulkner stuck with the same starting eleven that beat Enfield Town the previous week, while midfielder Jamie Petts came off the bench to make his first competitive appearance of the season for Ware.
Petts, who suffered a serious leg injury during the pre-season friendly with Southend United on July 27 last year, was eligible to play because he had signed for the club at the start of the season and his registration has been held ever since.
He returned to training last week and put in a good shift upon his introduction, first on the wing and then in central midfield.
Tilbury had a number of good chances early on, but Ware held firm.
There was one heart-stopping moment for the travelling fans when Ben Boyce’s effort had the better of keeper Obey Murefu, but centre-half Jack Friend was there to hack off the line.

Ware came out very strongly after the break, and it was Wade who broke the deadlock on the hour mark.
A long ball out of the defence found Emiel Aiken on the right, and his cross found Wade who duly scored.
Five minutes later it was 2-0. A route-one kick from Murefu found its way to Wade, who fired past Tilbury keeper James Marrable to double his tally.
In the last 20 minutes, the Dockers pushed forward in search of a route back into the game.
Petts’ introduction boosted Ware, while Leigh Rose was brought on up front with Wade dropping back into a midfield role.
The closest Tilbury came to a goal was when Boyce’s volley hit Murefu’s bar, while at the other end, Ware’s Sam Ruff squandered a late chance to make it three.
