Ware 2 Enfield Town 1
09 April 2011
YOUNG striker Leigh Rose capitalized on a fatal error from visiting keeper Rob Blackburne to net an injury time winner for the home side.
Rose, called into the first team squad from the under-18s, fired into an empty net after Blackburne spilled the ball at the edge of the box.
In Ware’s first ever victory over the Towners, there was a fairly even first half in the bright Hertfordshire sunshine.
The hosts took the lead nine minutes after the break when Ryan Wade’s downward header from Matt Mitchell’s cross went in after a long clearance from Ware keeper Obey Murefu.
Town equalized through Liam Hope ten minutes from time, and proceeded to apply late pressure in search of a winner.
But in the dying seconds, having replaced Wade only two minutes from time, Rose seized on Blackburne’s error and sent the Ware faithful into raptures with his right-footed effort.
